Cíle projektu: Cílem předkládaného projektu základního výzkumu je využití nejpokročilejších vysokorepetičních zdrojů koherentního záření v oboru měkkého rtg spektra (10-50 nm) k vytváření a sledování nanometrových struktur na površích pevných látek. Jde o kvalitativně nový směr výzkumu zaměřeného na studium interakce vysoce intenzivního měkkého rentgenového záření s hmotou, který není s konvenčními rtg/XUV zdroji realizovatelný. Vedle pilotního studia základních fyzikálních procesů ablace pevné fáze měkkým rentgenovým zářením je záměrem projektu zkoumání a optimalizace metod řízené generace nanostruktur zejména v režimu ablační monopulsní mikrolitografie. Tento základní záměr bude spojen (a) s implementací a vývojem vysokorepetičních zdrojů koherentního rtg/XUV záření na bázi kapilárního výboje a Ti:safírového čerpacího laseru, (b) s vývojem pokročilé rentgenové fokusační optiky pro XUV/rtg svazky, (c) s vývojem XUV/rtg interferometrie a holografie pro diagnostiku povrchů s nanometrovým rozlišením.
