Aims of the project: Langmuir-probes-based diagnostic is among the techniques most commonly used in tokamaks for measuring local plasma parameters thus helping in better understanding the physical phenomena occurring in a tokamak’s scrape-off layer and divertor. The project aims to contribute to the preparation of the Langmuir probes for the first wall diagnostics on the COMPASS Upgrade tokamak. Due to the high heat fluxes expected in a metallic environment, the diagnostic is based on flush-mounted probes embedded in limiters. A focus will be also put on the production of power supply boards for the 20-channel electronic system built during the previous project. The final main contribution is building a prototype of the flush-mounted probe designed to be used on Compass Upgrade. It can be used in testing the correct alignment with the PFCs which will also be embedded to improve the connection with the mineral isolated cables.
