Study of electron densities and spontaneous magnetic fields by means of multi-channel complex interferometry

| Aims of the project: The proposed unique sub-picosecond plasma probing will provide a detailed picture of evolution of very fast, impossible to distinguish by other diagnostics, hydrodynamic processes in arbitrary phases of a sub-ns iodine and fs Ti:Sapphire laser pulse interactions with various targets. Special attention will be devoted to the measurement of spontaneously generated magnetic fields by means of the complex interferometry diagnostics developed by the project proposer.
Recorded complex interferograms will be processed by means of the developed original software. Two-dimensional cylindrical fluid simulations will serve for preparation and interpretation of experiments. The resulting profiles of plasma parameters will be also utilized as initial conditions for detailed Particle-In-Cell simulations of parametric instabilities.
