Aims of the project: The aim of the project is to ensure an open access to the COMPASS research infrastructure for broad domestic and international user community including the technical support for realization of experiments in the frame of a coordinated European effort to master the thermonuclear fusion. The project will also significantly expand possibilities of education and training of new generation of researchers in the field of thermonuclear fusion and plasma physics as a necessary prerequisite for maintaining and consolidating the existing very good position of the Czech Republic and Europe in this research area in comparison with the rest of the world. Furthermore, the project will provide the necessary developmental and experimental background of Czech industrial entities competing for contracts in the ITER project and other fusion experimental devices. In the field of the publishing activities this will allow for a particularly important contribution to improving the quality of the scientific output, mainly by focussing the publications to journals with high impact factor.
