Aims of the project: the aim of the project is deepening the knowledge about emissions of deuterons, fusion neutrons and both incoherent and coherent electromagnetic radiation from plasma sources. Optimizing temporal, spatial and spectral characteristics of these sources for special applications, e.g. for microscopy, radiography, spectroscopy, materials processing and bio-medically oriented activities. Education and training of students in corresponding research areas for numerous laboratories around the Europe and for the HiLASE and ELI facilities newly established in the Czech Republic.

Progress/Results: In the department of Pulse Plasma Systems IPP the fast high-current discharge in the capillary with solid wall (filled both with Ar and with N2) was studied. The discharge in Ar-filled capillary works as a laser in extreme ultraviolet (XUV) region. In the year 2014 the research was focused both on the metrology of this radiation, and on its interaction with solid targets.
