Fuchs | Aims of the project: We suggest to explore in detail some not yet well understood processes leading to production of fast particles in plasmas by intense electric and magnetic fields. Joint effects of regular intense electromagnetic fields and of random turbulent fields on the particle acceleration will be investigated. We plan also to study consequences of the fast particle generation for other processes, like for strong electric and magnetic field generation, for plasma channeling, and for X-rays and gamma-rays productioin laser plasmas, and for high thermal loads on tokamak walls. In many cases, the fast particles generation has common features in laser plasmas and in plasmas heated by waves in the rf range of frequencies.
