Aims of the project: The principal aim of the project is to investigate the 3D structure of the edge turbulence on the CASTOR tokamak. In particular, the system of 128 Langmuir probes, surrounding the plasma column will be used to measure the poloidal distribution of densityand potential fluctuation and their mutual correlation. Simultaneously, the poloidal ring of 32 electrodes will be located at a different toroidal position. Such configuration provides a unique possibility of multi-dimensional analysis of edge turbulentstructures at different discharge conditions. Moreover, the edge turbulence will be modified by means of AC and DC biasing of individual electrodes. In addition, some specific features of edge turbulence (temperature fluctuations, link between theelectrostatic and magnetic fluctuations,...) will be studied by means of several advanced probe diagnostics, such as the emissive, tunnel, combined magnetic and electric probes e.t.c. Most of them will be tested in tokamaks for the first time.

Progress/Results: Main results achieved in the frame of the grant project are as follows: 1. Identification of a quasi-coherent turbulent mode with a well defined poloidal number, which exists at the backgroung broadband turbulence in the edge plasma, where the magnetic f
