Aims of the project: Aim of the project is to study the influence of chemical composition, phase composition and microstructure of multicomponent TiO2-based powders onto changes of physical properties and photocatalytic activity of layers prepared from the above -mentioned powders. The method used for layered samples preparation will be the plasma spraying by the water-stabilized system. Effectivity of the catalysis and sensitivity to the higher wavelength irradiation could be enhanced by addition of dopants into feedstock powder. One of the principal targets of feedstock doping, from the viewpoint of the coating method, will be a suppression of the anatase-to-rutile phase transition. The results will broaden knowledge of the relationships: Character of the feedstock powder – behavior of the powder in plasma – deposit's microstructure and effectivity in photocatalytic reactions. The output will be useful for improvement of the physical properties as well as catalytic efficiency of TiO2-based coatings.
