Aims of the project: ODS alloys' applicability in additive methods is limited by the melting of deposited metal particles and subsequent thermo-mechanical treatment. Therefore, the project is aimed at preparing a controlled multi-modal microstructure of Eurofer ODS steel with the desired combination of mechanical properties to overcome the need of thermo-mechanical treatment. The proposed method of influencing the final microstructure by pre-preparation in powder form allows control of grain size, chemical and phase composition in a representative volume, which can create barriers to the movement of crystal lattice defects and thus influence deformation mechanisms. The resulting microstructure of the alloy is obtained by consolidation using cold spray. The design of the steel microstructure will be obtained by micromechanical modelling based on the observed microstructural parameters (grain size and distribution, size, distribution and chemical composition of the strengthening phase) in order to achieve the desired mechanical properties: high strength and a combination of high strength and deformation.
