Aims of the project: The objectives of the proposed project are the investigation and experimental verification of new plasmachemical methods of tungsten precursor reduction, leading to tungsten powders with high sintering activity. This will enable to increase the density of the PM products beyond current technological limits. The use of non-isothermal hydrogen plasma will enable the initiation of reduction processes at low temperature of the neutral gas and high temperature of the electrons. This will increase atomic hydrogen concentration and will also include experimental alloying of tungsten "in situ" by titanium, copper, lithium and lanthanoids, to simplify the preparation of high thermal emission materials. Finally, the application of the developed special tungsten materials for plasma deposition using WSPR will be verified. Towards this goal, relationships between the povder particle size and their thermal, transport, dynamic and chemical behavior will be studied. |
