Aims of the project: The project is focused on surface treatment area for mechanical/civil engineering, especially R+D of new types of materials, application of new techniques for surface treatment/pretreatment with high levels of know-how and substantially improved functionality. New coatings will be effective and achieve tailored properties and will meet present or future environmental demands. Work package 7 (High Adherence Coatings) is focused on advanced coating systems designed to increase service life of aerospace engine components by R&D of new types of coatings for high temperature applications (thermal barrier coatings).
